Nicholsons welcomes Kate Jackson and launches new Family Law department

We're delighted to welcome Kate Jackson to Nicholsons as a Partner, and with her, the launch of a new Family Law department.
Family life touches almost everything we do. Making a will, buying or selling a home, planning for the future, running a business; all of it is bound up with family. For a full-service firm like ours, family law has long been the missing piece of the puzzle, and we're pleased to be completing the picture. It means that when a family matter overlaps with property, wills and estate planning, or a business, we can look after all of it under one roof, with our teams working together rather than leaving clients to coordinate between separate advisers.
Kate brings two decades of experience to the role, starting in the profession in 2004, and can advise across the full range of family law, from divorce and separation to financial matters, arrangements for children, cohabitation, domestic abuse, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements. She is a member of Resolution and holds its Specialist Accreditation in both private children law and domestic abuse, a recognition reserved for genuine expertise in two of the most sensitive areas of family work. As an experienced advocate, Kate can also represent clients in court when that becomes necessary.
What stands out about Kate's approach is her commitment to fairness for all parties. Family law is changing, and Kate welcomes the move towards resolving matters more collaboratively and keeping them out of court wherever possible. That constructive, compassionate style is exactly how Kate works. She's known for clear, practical advice and an approachable manner, and for guiding clients calmly through what is often a very difficult time. Kate is also able to offer clients the option to use the modern Separating Together approach, in which a single solicitor supports a couple jointly to reach a fair outcome without the cost and conflict of court.
"I'm really pleased to be joining Nicholsons. Family matters rarely sit on their own; there's often a property to deal with, a trust, or a business involved, so being part of a full-service firm means we can work alongside colleagues and look after the whole picture for a client." — Kate Jackson
Fellow partner Sabina Haag (Dispute Resolution) also welcomes Kate's appointment and the new department:
"We are delighted to welcome Kate to the firm and to be able to offer family and children law services to our local community again. There is a real demand in this area and Kate's unique experience and approach will bring a real breath of fresh air I am sure." — Sabina Haag
