Contractual Disputes
Most business relationships run on agreements that nobody looks at twice, right up until the moment something goes wrong. Then the exact wording matters enormously.
How we can help with Contractual Disputes.
Breach of contract
Where the other side hasn’t done what they agreed to, and you need it put right or compensated.
Getting out of an agreement
Where you can no longer perform your side of a contract, and need advice on your options and exposure.
What the contract actually says
A proper reading of the terms, including the ones that only matter when there is a problem.
Negotiated settlements
Neither side usually wants the cost of court, so there is often a deal to be done.
We start by reading the contract properly, because what was agreed is not always what everyone assumed was agreed, and the answer is often in a clause nobody paid much attention to at the time. From there we give you a straight assessment of your position and the realistic ways forward.

We can help with, but are not limited to:

There is nearly always more room to manoeuvre than people expect. Sometimes the way out is in the contract itself; occasionally the law provides one, perhaps the agreement has been frustrated by events outside anyone’s control and can no longer be performed as intended. What matters is knowing where you stand before you commit to a course of action.
Not sure this is the right page?
If your dispute is really about an unpaid invoice rather than what was agreed, our Debt Collection page covers that. If you need a contract drafted or reviewed rather than argued over, see Commercial Contracts.
Otherwise, get in touch and tell us what has happened, and we will tell you plainly what your options are and what they are likely to cost.
